Qobustan it is an ancient place of habitants which live in these areas on the dates of 5,000-40,000 years ago. It is located about about 60 km far from Baku city center. This location included to the UNESCO Heritage list.
Qobustan National Museum will help you to feel the history of first immigrants of these lands. The reserve has more than 6,000 rock engravings dating back between 5,000-40,000 years. The site also features the remains of inhabited caves, settlements and burials, all reflecting an intensive human use by the inhabitants of the area during the wet period that followed the last Ice Age.
Azerbaijan also famous with its Mud Vulcanos which is very rear in the world. We will have a chance to see these Vulcanos which are near to Qobustan Museum. As the road to Mud Vulcano is so bad, we will change our car to Soviet cars with brand name Lada. It will be another Safari adventure for you. ;)
Is one of Azerbaijan’s most remarkable sight. According to historical sources, before the construction of the Indian Temple Of Fire in Surakhani at the end of the 17th, the local people also worshiped at this site because of the “seven holes with burning flame”.
Yanar Dag is a natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan (a country which itself is known as "the Land of Fire"). Flames jet into the air 3 metres (9.8 ft) from a thin, porous sandstone layer.

Amazing journey into the history of Azerbaijan
We had a fantastic day with visits to spectacular sites – these were among others the ancient rock paintings at Gobustan, the Mud Volcanoes, the fire temple Atesgah, the eternal fire at Yanardag. The owner of the company did the tour with us himself. He is very knowledgeable about the country and its history and we learnt a lot during this day about Azerbaijan.
At Gobustan, he had hired a guide from the museum who explained the history and background of the rock drawings, also at the Fire Temple a guide was included. Further, all entry fees were included in the price as well as a very nice lunch. This tour is absolutely worth its money and an excellent package. I have not seen another tour starting from Baku with such great conditions, comfort and historical insights.
Brilliant Tour, highly recommend.
Fantastic day trip form Baku, lots to see and plenty of time spent at each one. Massive shout out to our tour guide Farhad, brilliant and friendly, made our day so enjoyable. Lots of opportunities to learn more about the history and culture of Baku and Azerbaijan. Farhad had brilliant knowledge and linked what we saw in different places altogether. Loved this day so much, best day in Baku for sure. Highly recommend and thank you so much.
Brilliant
Fabulous day out, our tour could not have been better for us. Our guide was a great driver and guide and he picked up quickly on the pace we were happy at, supplied us with water and was informative at all the sites we visited. Booking the tour was a breeze and any questions were answered quickly. Highly recommend.
Nature, History and an Awe-Inspiring Experience! Must-Do!
This was a wonderful day trip from Baku! Very well organised. Thanks to Artunj for taking care of the logistics and planning of the tour, I literally did basic research and didn't need to do any more, because everything was so well taken care of! Very responsive as well!
Thanks in many ways, also to our friendly guide, Farhad, who was very knowledgeable about the rich history in each of the places that we visited - sharing just the right amount of information without overloading us with it. He has a pleasant vibe about him, that creates a pleasant environment during the drive to- and from- Baku! Shoutout also to the Lada driver that drove us up the Mud Volcanoes for a safe, friendly and quite the unique off-road experience to a great wonder of Nature - not a word of English was spoken but we had an amazing time on the driver communicating via sign language and Google Translate whilst off-roading in a car older than me :P !
IMMENSELY HAPPY WITH AZERBAIJANGUIDE.AZ
We were so lucky to discover Azerbaijan with Azerbaijanguide.az... I loved from the beginning how the booking process went with Artunj. Very quick in answering to all my questions and very pleasant to work with. We booked with Azerbaijanguide.az 2 AIRPORT TRANSFERS and 2 full day tours: SHAMAKHI AND LAHIJ TOUR and A DAY TRIP TO QOBUSTAN + MUD VULCANO + ATESHGAH + YANARDAG... Our tour guide for the entire trip was Farhad. What an amazing young man! Was a pleasure to be with Farhad and let him show us Azerbaijan through his eyes and heart. He was waiting for us at the airport, with him we travelled through the mountains toward Shamakhi and Lahij, with Farhad we discoved Qobustan plus surroundings and with the same friend Farhad we shared some amazing traditional Azerbaijani food in Lahij and near Ateshgah. Farhad was such a cautions driver at the same time making us feel very safe, especially having 2 children with us. He gave us all the necessary information about every landmark we visited and had lots of patience and calmness in his personality which made us feel great. We never felt rushed or not informed appropriately. When I'm thinking of Azerbaijan, I always remember Farhad and Azerbaijanguide.az... Thank you so much for making our trip to Azerbaijan smooth and beautiful! Highly recommended to everyone who wants to discover Azerbaijan!
